The best of classic Stan's dragonflies! You're for a good start, my friend.

you wanna make me go green with envy this new year eh?
happy new year matey grin
Stan: hehe...wait till you see the LCD on my D300 grin
Stunning macro shot Stan. I would have liked the front wing completely in focus, but we can't have it all!!!grin Many best wishes for the coming year, Neil.
Stan: Best wished for the New year to you too! I agree with you Neil, my goal is to get a completely in focus dragonfly shot at similar magnification (1.4:1). This would involve stitching and stacking images with very small tolerances for camera and subject movement. Unfortunately, i'm not quite there yet. Something to work towards i guess :p

Great shots like this get me looking at the EXIF and yours is not available?

Great detail of the subject.
Stan: Sorry about that, I just got too lazy to type it in. This shot is a focus stack of 2 or three images but the settings were:

Nikon D200, ISO 640, 210mm, F/8, 1/80s

Wow! I would've loved to have had this for the just-concluded insect-themed issue of the online magazine I help curate, http://qarrtsiluni.com/category/insecta/
Stan: Hmm..guess we just missed each other. Feel free to contact me if there are other shots you'd like to use.
