Nightscape
This is another shot in the area close to the London Eye. Its quite a long exposure and the white balance was quite different, I processed to give it a feel closer to what my eye saw on that night. Again, I feel that the upload has robbed the image of some of its magic but I hope you enjoy it all the same.

Quite different. I haven't really tried long exposure shots. Time to get a tripod and experiment.
oh yes i enjoy it all the same
do you by any chance resize your images before upload? and do you use the sharpening feature sc provides? i resize my images to about 45% before upload (though i suspect that the bigger the image before upload, the more detailed it will be) and i use the sharpening feature and am usually pleased with what sc shows (it's like the sharpening feature only compensates for potential loss in quality, and does not necessarily add extra/undue sharpness)
The colours seem a little washed out or is that as a result of the upload? I like the composition though.
I miss long exposures. Got to try one with a model test shoot not too long ago. Maybe I'll have that up here once I get to it.
uau...nice
I like the exposure range, but somethings not quite right on the left hand side, maybe part of the upload?
It certainly has magic for me.
I'm well aware of all the light, but I prefer, and automatically look towards, the left of the picture where it looks like a painting.
absolutely lovely stan...and who told you u're no potrait photog huh?
Stan: Lol. Well how many of those do you see in my archive?
a little bit dark would be nice....great landscape
yes looks absolutely fabulous to my eyes Stan.
lol...some funny comments here
is 800 pixels not the optimal upload width? The colours do seem a tad washed out...did you use the shadow/ highlight tool in shop? thats what it looks like. I did some long exposures today and also struggled with exactly the same thing. I guess its a personal thing at the end of the day agree with Ellie...it does look like a painting ps: there are tons of portraits in your archives! ok so they not human but damn they are good looking bugs
Stan: I used the ev compensation slider at max value and then followed with some pretty drastic exposure and colour fixing (all done within the RAW converter). Guess that explains the colour. I'll revisit the shot someday and see what I come up with
A fantastic Job, great image... love this one!
Doesn't matter.. I look aesthetically. and I like what you did here especially with the light from the cars. did you slow it down to the point that everyone is invisible or it was just an empty night? nice one for me
Stan: Yeah. It was a 20 or 25 second exposure. Shame I couldn't lose the cars too
the robbing of its magic -- perhaps no sharpening by SC next time you upload, and also show a larger image. However, I do like this even with its faults; it reminds me so much of a Parisian painting from the mid-1800's by a French painter whose name I can't remember.
